 Who we are

We are a Saudi health network of elite specialized Saudi and international companies and organizations targeting the problem of safety in our community.

The Problem
“ Injuries and violence are a threat to health in every country of the world. Between them, they account for 9% of global mortality – more than five million deaths every year. Eight of the 15 leading causes of death for people between the ages of 15 and 29 years are injury – related. These are road traffic injuries, suicides, homicides, drowning, burns, war injuries, poisonings and falls.”

“Preventing injuries and violence Guide, WHO”

“Every year the lives of almost 1.24 million people are cut short as a result of a road traffic crash. Between 20 to 50 million more people suffer non-fatal injuries, with many incurring a disability as a result of their injury”.

“In 2004, an estimated 388 000 people died from drowning, making drowning a major public health problem worldwide. Injuries account for nearly 10% of total global mortality. Drowning is the 3rd leading cause of unintentional injury death, accounting for 7% of all injury-related deaths”.

“A fall is defined as an event which results in a person coming to rest inadvertently on the ground or floor or other lower level. Fall-related injuries may be fatal or non-fatal though most are non-fatal. For example, of children in the People's Republic of China, for every death due to a fall, there are 4 cases of permanent disability, 13 cases requiring hospitalization for more than 10 days, 24 cases requiring hospitalization for 1–9 days and 690 cases seeking medical care or missing work/school”.

WHO.2013

KSA today is suffering from a major safety problem in all over the community, our roads are not safe, our schools are not safe, our homes are not safe and our workplace is not safe as well.

Looking at the latest statistics of the deaths of (RTA) Road Traffic Accidents in KSA last year ( 2012); there were around 7000 deaths ,36000 injuries due to RTA. Unfortunately there is no national data available on the number of burn cases, falls, home –non intentional injuries, or drowning.

This major problem has several parameters and ESABAH will help the community to overcome this problem and provide a safer community in KSA and MENA countries based on a scientific and international standards of safety and injury prevention.
